The speakers will discuss the challenges of RSG, and what needs to happen to improve price discovery and transparency and enable natural gas consumers to actively participate in the energy transition.

Tom Russo, President, Russo on Energy LLC

Tom Russo has 30 years of experience in energy regulation, infrastructure, environmental impact assessment, and energy markets. Prior to starting Russo on Energy LLC, he worked at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on hydropower, environmental impact assessments and natural gas and oil matters. He also is an adjunct professor in the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University, where he teaches courses in global energy markets and security, global electricity markets and international energy and environmental regulations.

Tom also writes an Energy & Environmental column for the Climate & Energy Journal on energy transition issues.

Richard Hyde, Executive Director, Our Nations Energy Future or ONE Future
Richard Hyde has primary responsibility for the day to day operations for One Future. Most recently he served as the Director of External Affairs for Southern Company Gas, responsible for the legislative and regulatory functions for the Commercial Businesses which include Fuels and Storage, Pipeline Investments and Energy Marketing.

Richard has been in the natural gas industry for over 30 years, working for Panhandle Eastern and Trunkline Gas, Duke Energy, AGL Resources and Southern Company Gas. Richard has worked primarily in the state legislative arena, except for a brief stint in D.C. with Duke Energy as their primary pipeline representative.

Mary Moerlins, Director of Environmental Policy and Corporate Responsibility, Northwest Natural, (formerly Northwest Natural Gas Company)
is the Director of Environmental Policy and Corporate Responsibility at NW Natural where she works to continue raising the bar for responsible and effective, community support and decarbonization through environmental policy programs and sustainable operations and at Oregon’s largest Natural Gas utility.  Prior to joining NW Natural Mary worked in environmental nonprofits in Atlanta, GA focused on greenspace conservation, sustainability and environmental education. Mary received a Masters of Public Administration from Georgia State University and Bachelors in Biological Sciences from Agnes Scott College

Mark Callahan, S&P Global Platts, Editorial Director - Americas Generating Fuels and Power Pricing
Mark has senior managerial responsibility for all price assessment activity carried out in the Americas Generating Fuels business, consisting of Natural Gas, LNG, Coal, Electric Power, and Nuclear Power markets. He leads a team of market experts whose primary role is to assess prices and generate relevant news that helps readers make informed trading and risk management decisions. He has over 20 years of Energy industry experience, including 14 years trading North American Power and Natural Gas. Mark holds an MBA in Finance from New York University and a B.S. in Finance from Fairfield University.
