The Dallas Fed Energy Survey provides unique insights into the upstream oil and gas sector by surveying more than 200 industry executives each quarter. Participants provide information about how key business indicators have evolved since the last survey period and also respond to special questions on topics of interest to the industry. Please join us as we provide an overview of the survey and take a look at the latest results in this webinar.

Moderator:

Michael Plante, Senior Research Economist and Advisor
Michael Plante joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in July 2010. He received his PhD in economics from Indiana University in August 2009. His academic research interests include macroeconomics, oil markets, and the connections between energy prices and the macroeconomy. He has also been the project manager of the Dallas Fed Energy Survey since its inception in 2016.

Kunal Patel, Business Economist
Kunal Patel is a business economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. As a member of the Research Department's energy group, Patel analyzes and investigates developments and topics in the oil and gas sector. He is also heavily involved with the production of the Dallas Fed Energy Survey and is an organizer of the annual Dallas Fed-Kansas City Fed energy conference. Kunal received a bachelor of business administration from the Business Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA in finance from the University of Texas at Dallas.
