Association Webinars: COVID-19's Rapidly Changing Impact on Asia Pacific Electricity Markets

The impact of COVID-19 on the electricity sector throughout the Asia Pacific has been immediate, deep, and profound.

Assumptions underpinning regulatory, policy, commercial, and strategic decisions have been disrupted. A large part of this disruption is tied to the immediate impact of lockdowns and distancing measures and the abrupt curtailment of international mobility.

In this webinar, Mike Thomas-Managing Director for The Lantau Group (TLG)-takes us through an evidence-based journey and deep dive into the issues and headline impacts of Covid-19 to the region. Special focus will be given to the impacts on power markets in Asia Pacific, and how lockdown measures have impacted short- and medium-term demand trajectories and fuel price dynamics as well as reviewing the implications of supply-side market conditions to the region.

Further discussion will be provided by David Wogan-Assistant Vice President for the Asia Pacific Energy Research Center (APERC)-who leads their energy outlook work.
