The upcoming German presidency of the European Council will be crucial towards implementing the European Green Deal. In preparation, intensive discussions have taken place. Amongst others, the Independent Expert Commission, tasked with analyzing the progress of the German energy transition, strongly contributed to these discussions with their report "Driving Climate Protection, Strengthen Prosperity" recently published in June 2020. This webinar, jointly organized and moderated by the German (GEE) and the Austrian (AAEE) affiliates of the IAEE, features a debate between Andreas Löschel, Chairman of the Independent Expert Commission, and Georg Erdmann, former Member of the Independent Expert Commission. It will emphasize on energy price reforms, green certifications, and industrial transformations related to the implementation of the European Green Deal.
