Dear IAEE Members,

It is a great honor to serve as President of the International Association of Energy Economics. Serving in this role is both a privilege and a responsibility. As I begin my term, I sincerely thank Edmar de Almeida and the entire IAEE Council for their leadership in 2025.

As energy systems and policies evolve, IAEE’s role in fostering rigorous, evidence-based dialogue remains essential. Strengthening the quality, relevance, and accessibility of IAEE’s conferences, publications, and communications will be a central focus during my term.

I look forward to working closely with our new management team under the leadership of IAEE’s new Executive Director, Olga Radionenko, whom many of you will know from her long-standing involvement in IAEE and her role in organizing the 2025 International Conference in Paris. I would also like to sincerely thank Julie Sutter and Rebecca Lilley for their support and contributions to IAEE over the past years.

I hope to connect with many of you throughout 2026, including at upcoming IAEE conferences such as the International Conference in Santiago, Chile, or the European Conference in Munich, Germany.

Sincerely,
Aaron Praktiknjo
President, IAEE
