Abstract:  The concept of energy analysis has attracted much attention during the past few years. The notion that the energy content of goods and services should be closely studied, an idea that originally appealed only to specialists in certain scientific and technical fields, has recently aroused the interest of a wide range of researchers and public policy decisionmakers, particularly since the formation of the OPEC oil cartel.
